"Questionable Words/Phrases: 17"

Oops, so Hurricane Katrina became a crazy Category 5 recently, which blows. (Heh) I hope the disaster can be suppressed by the evacuation efforts. There's also this other Hurricane Talim, Category 2, which is gonna hit eastern China sometime. [Edit: Katrina downgraded to Category 3.]

Poem'd

Sweet sweet sweet sweet sweet tea.
Susie Asado.
Sweet sweet sweet sweet sweet tea.
Susie Asado.
Susie Asado which is a told tray sure.
A lean on the shoe this means slips slips hers.
When the ancient light grey is clean it is yellow,
it is a silver seller.

Excerpt from Susie Asado - Gertrude Stein

...and then I asked him with my eyes to ask again yes
and then he asked me would I yes to say yes my mountain flower
and first I put my arms around him yes and drew him
down to me so he could feel my breasts all perfume yes
and his heart was going like mad and yes I said yes I will Yes.

Excerpt from Ulysses - James Joyce

D'oh

Things have happened today which must have been displeasing to people. Firstly is that the gas prices shot up again because the Middle East was playing with missiles and generally being frigged over. However the large diesel spill over the highway this morning must've helped alleviate the bad news.

Then there was the crazy tornado warning which is now a severe thunderstorm warning. The roads now have big pools of water and some underground parking lots have flooded. Those people who parked underground in Scarborough Town Centre to hide their cars from the bright shining clouds need to wade to their vehicles. Appearantly it was really insanely wet and gale-like in southern Ontario.

Rotary gyrator

Meet the world's longest palindromic sentence.

Also, this has got to be the best poem in the world.

Doppelganger - James A. Lindon

Entering the lonely house with my wife
I saw him for the first time
Peering furtively from behind a bush --
Blackness that moved,
A shape amid the shadows,
A momentary glimpse of gleaming eyes
Revealed in the ragged moon.
A closer look (he seemed to turn) might have
Put him to flight forever --
I dared not
(For reasons that I failed to understand),
Though I knew I should act at once.

I puzzled over it, hiding alone,
Watching the woman as she neared the gate.
He came, and I saw him crouching
Night after night.
Night after night
He came, and I saw him crouching,
Watching the woman as she neared the gate.

I puzzled over it, hiding alone --
Though I knew I should act at once,
For reasons that I failed to understand
I dared not
Put him to flight forever.

A closer look (he seemed to turn) might have
Revealed in the ragged moon.
A momentary glimpse of gleaming eyes
A shape amid the shadows,
Blackness that moved.

Peering furtively from behind a bush,
I saw him for the first time,
Entering the lonely house with my wife.

Apricock

This is both clever and silly.

Note that it's an advertisement for the Apricot bidet toilet. I think bidets, especially public, are the nastiest thing ever. Although having never tried one before, I can't back it up.

Yak's Aerobics

The robbery at "Banco Central" involved months of creating a well-made tunnel which included lighting and air conditioning. They then broke through the steel-reinforced concrete vault and ran away with lots and lots of money.

This proves that all public buildings should hover.

PEI-back time

Yay, it was a fun detour this summer. Although basically all sightseeing. And disapponting lobster dinners. In general, the further east you went, the nicer the hotels, and the scarier the gas prices.

If you ever go to the Maritimes and see this interesting McLobster sandwich, you should NOT buy it, unless you'd like to be ripped off of about $6 and feel what a 9:1 lettuce-processed mashed lobster ratio sandwich tastes like. If it weren't for the bread you'd have thought you ate nothing.
